Established in 2000 and based in Cape Town (South Africa), Unique Hydra is a leading manufacturer and supplier of marine and diving equipment to the oil and gas industry. Unique Hydra personnel have substantial experience in marine engineering, hyperbaric, military defense, aerospace, nuclear and chemical engineering. Their experience has given Unique Group a leading edge in obtaining contracts involving the design, production, supply and maintenance of its specialised equipment. All services offered are comprehensive and tailored to suit individual client needs. We manufacture and offer a complete range of diving systems – from air and mixed gas to complete saturation diving systems encompassing Divers LARS and Wetbells. Our core expertise includes: • Production of new equipment, including conceptual and detailed mechanical and system design • Mechanical system design and project management including: Underwater systems and submersibles | Process plant equipment, including chemical process engineering | Medium, high and ultra-high pressure systems | Specialised valve design and development for the nuclear, process and aerospace industries and high temperature systems. We are the only Nautical Institute accredited Dynamic Positioning training centre in Africa. The centre is located in Cape Town and ideally situated for the training of personnel prior to joining or signing off from vessels and platforms in African operational areas. We offer a range of Dynamic Positioning courses, including the Nautical Institute approved Dynamic Positioning Basic and Advance course. In association with partner training centres we are also able to offer a range of marine certification courses.
